POSITION SUMMARY:

Provides overall weekend coordination and supervision of the facilities maintenance and housekeeping duties, including party set up and take down. This position is to insure seamless transition from the work week staff, to the weekend staff, and keep open lines of communication with all pertinent staff, front desk, and whoever is on call, along with Sr. Director of Maintenance.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Ensure that all areas of the building are kept clean and in proper working condition at all times to insure the best customer service experience possible.
  2. Keeping the building clean and running - Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, paper products, soap products, washing towels, and overall building cleanliness.
  3. Sanitization of the building
  4. Set up and take down of weekend classes and activities.
  5. Set up and take down of rentals and proper shutdown procedures and seamless transition to night cleaning staff.
  6. Set the example for members in the areas of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.
  7. Read, know, follow and enforce emergency procedures, YMCA policies, rules, and health codes applicable to the facility.
  8. Help with special events.
  9. Attend meetings as directed by the Sr. Director of Maintenance
  10. Other Duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills required.
  2. Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
  3. Current certification from a NCAA Nationally Accredited program for Personal training.

  1. Actively approach members in the Fitness Center and Free Weight/Track area to help build relationships.
  2. Clean Fitness Center and Free Weight/Track area equipment on a daily basis.
  3. Regularly check fitness center and weight room for damaged equipment; report all needed repairs to Assoc. Wellness Director.
  4. Conduct individual member orientations to provide member with general knowledge on how to use cardio equipment and strength equipment machines in the Fitness Center and Free Weight/Track area.
  5. Assist members with equipment usage and be available and visible in the fitness center to answer basic fitness questions.
  6. Set the example for members in the areas of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.
  7. Completes in a timely manner all requests from supervisor(s) and aids in the achievement of department and center goals and objectives.

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for instructing safe and effective group exercise and/or related classes for a wide range of participants and members.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Plans and instructs group exercise and/or related classes, following industry standards and guidelines.
  2. Arrives and sets up 7-10 minutes before class and cleans up after classes and protects health, safety and welfare of participants by keeping fitness area safe.
  3. Reports any equipment problems.

  5. Represents the NSYMCA in a positive manner. Discusses and promotes all YMCA programs and follows YMCA policies and procedures.
  6. Maintains a well groomed appearance and adheres to professional dress attire.
  7. Attends all required meetings and trainings.
  8. May perform fitness testing and orientations.
  9. Secures a substitute if unable to attend scheduled shift.
  10. Responsible for judging appropriate level for all participants.
  11. Develops rapport with members and responds to member questions related to fitness.
  12. Coordinates use of facilities for program activities and events.

Requirements:

Must have a current certification from a NCAA National Accredited Program for Group Exercise. Obtain state approved First Aid and CPR Certifications as well as AED. Ability to lead a group exercise class, ability to motivate and educate members with an enthusiastic attitude.

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Y-time staff maintains a supportive, positive atmosphere that welcomes and respects all individuals, promotes the potential of all youth, and provides a quality experience to both youth and their families.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Supervises the children, classroom, and all program activities.
  2. Assists all children with any homework they have.
  3. Follows all procedures and standards as established by the Y; maintains the program site, equipment, and required program records.
  4. Nurtures children through purposeful programming.
  5. Creates a positive rapport and shared interest with all youth.
  6. Provides opportunities for youth to lead, problem-solve, and make decisions and choices within the program and provides daily opportunities for youth to reflect on and respond to their experiences.
  7. Makes ongoing, systematic observations and evaluations of each child.
  8. Provides and welcomes ongoing dialogue with parents and caregivers about their child’s needs and progress; conducts parent/caregiver conferences; connects families to the Y.
  9. Attends and participates in staff meetings, and staff training as assigned.
  10. Performs other duties as assigned.
  11. Must be available to teach the beginning week and ending week of each session. No vacations/days off will be allowed during those time periods.

Qualifications:

  1. Meets educational and experience qualifications established the Y.
  2. CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications required.
  3. Child Abuse Prevention training required within 30 days of hire.
  4. Previous experience working with children in a developmental setting preferred.
  5. Ability to plan, organize and implement age-appropriate/developmentally appropriate program activities.
  6. Ability to develop positive, authentic relationships with people from different backgrounds.
