The Competitive Gymnastics Program at the NSYMCA focuses on developing the foundation for strong communities through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. Through positive learning-based curriculum and coaching practices, the NSYMCA Competitive Gymnastics Program creates an experience and opportunity for gymnasts to grow and succeed in and out of the gym.
Our core values revolve around Respect, Responsibility, Caring, Honesty, and Team Work. When a gymnast joins our competitive program, they commit to developing their leadership skills through these values in order to become supportive and encourage teammate to all within the program.
Initial placement into the competitive program is done by Coach evaluation and recommendation. For mobility within the competitive program, such as Pre-Team Bronze or the Competitive Team, gymnasts must try out each year. Tryouts are held in the spring and during summer gymnastics camp.
As a USA Gymnastics Member Club, we have adopted the USAG Safe Sport Policy in addition to our NSYMCA Child Protection Policies and Procedures.
If you have questions about either of these policies, please contact our USAG Safety Champion: Shannon Mundorf, Senior Director of Arts and Risk Management at [email protected].
