Believe the child.
Reassure them they did the right thing by telling you.
Avoid asking leading questions.
Report concerns to the appropriate authorities.
Call 911 if a child is in immediate danger.
You do not need proof to report suspected abuse. If you have a reasonable suspicion, trust your instincts and report your concern. Acting quickly may help protect a child from further harm.
