Each April, during Child Abuse Prevention Month, the North Suburban YMCA joins YMCAs across the country in participating in the Five Days of Action®, a national campaign that raises awareness and empowers adults to help protect children from abuse.
The campaign reminds us that creating safe environments for children is a shared responsibility. Parents, caregivers, coaches, teachers, neighbors, and community members all play an important role in recognizing concerns, responding appropriately, and helping children feel safe and supported.
Today, the campaign focuses on three simple but powerful actions: Know. See. Respond. By learning the warning signs of abuse, recognizing concerning behaviors, and knowing how to respond, each of us can help create safer communities where every child has the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive.
