Karen Bonner Artist Statement
Karen Bonner retired in 2010 and took her first art lesson in 2011. She began with a drawing class at a Community College in Ohio. Four years ago she moved to Northbrook to be closer to her children and grandchildren. She found she could continue her art lessons through the North Suburban YMCA Adult Watercolor class with Fran Vail. Fran is an esteemed watercolorist in the water color world.
These paintings demonstrate the progression of Karen’s experience which she will tell you is mostly from the training from the Watercolors with Fran Vail class at the Y. It is held on Tuesday nights from 6:30-8:30pm
“I find painting very relaxing and I feel good when my paintings look presentable,” says Karen.
Karen has recently entered several juried shows and has not only been accepted into the shows, but has taken home some prizes!
