Elizabeth Flatt Statement

My first experience at painting was in 2008-I joined friends for a “Canvas/Cocktails“ evening. Served on the Board of the Gulfport Galleria of Fine Arts in Gulfport, Mississippi for several years. Moved to be near family in 2018 and joined the North Shore Senior Center (NSSC) where I began painting in earnest, first with acrylics then finding a home in oil. NSSC displayed my art in 2020. I was asked to display my art for two months at Northfield Village (City) Hall in 2021, Art exhibit at Oakton College Art Museum, 2022, and had two pieces of my art published in November 2022 issue of The Review Magazine.

With 300 years of ancestors living near the bayous of the South, Happiness for me is anywhere in nature and reliving that ancestry through my art.

As I reached my ‘Senior Years’ I have found my happiness lies in watching my granddaughters grow, and being able to freeze happy moments in time through my art.
