Fitness Group Exercise Class Descriptions
Aerobics & Strength Training Classes20/20/20 – (All Levels) Variety is the spice of life! A fun combination class, which includes 20 minutes of step, 20 minutes of aerobics, and 20 minutes of strength training for a well-rounded workout. Warm up and cool down stretch are included as well. Enjoy! 30/30/30 – (Int.-helpful pre-requisite 20/20/20) The endurance version of 20/20/20. Class format is open every 30 minutes for new participants to join in! Basic Cardio Plus – (All Levels) Utilize low impact moves in this joint friendly class. Geared to a low to moderate intensity, the class will include cardiovascular, strengthening and stretching exercises. Fun for all people of all fitness levels. The class includes resistance training for the entire body for a balanced workout. Cardio Combo – (All Levels) A great class to burn calories and have fun! This class includes a combination of basic cardiovascular movement which may use the step and full body muscle conditioning. May be circuit format or ½ cardio and ½ strength. A variety of resistance equipment is used to improve strength, stability, balance and coordination followed by a gentle stretch. Cardio Kickbox – (All Levels) Have fun with boxing and martial arts techniques combined with aerobic and strength training drills. Drills may include jumping rope, jumping jacks, push ups, sit-ups, dips and much more. The combination of these activities improves cardiovascular endurance, muscular strength, flexibility, agility, coordination and balance. Core training and light stretching finishes the workout. Beginner step – (All levels) Learn the terminology and basic moves of step aerobics in a 30-minute moderate intensity class. General Fitness – (All Levels) This class is the combination of basic free-style aerobic moves and general body toning. Great for the beginner or those who like simple, easy to follow choreography. An excellent way to start your day! Pump & Flex – (All Levels) A high intensity strength and endurance group exercise class that will target each major muscle group for four to five minutes. Equipment used is body bars and free weights ranging from 5 to 25 lbs. Core training and flexibility exercises are included. Participants will see a change in their bodies and obtain more energy in only a few weeks! Step Circuit – (All Levels ) Try something different! Increase your aerobic endurance and muscular strength using simplified choreography in this combination workout. High-energy class combines short 5-minute cardio segments and 2-minute strength training segments. Includes step and hi/low patterns finishing with core and flexibility exercises. Step Variety Challenge – (Int./Adv.) Challenge yourself with this fun, high intensity class. May include one or more steps or strength intervals. The aerobic segments include a variety of choreographed athletic, advanced stepping patterns, followed by core strengthening exercises and final stretch. Strength & Conditioning – (All Levels) A total body workout to improve balance, strength, endurance and stability for 60 minutes. Includes a variety of equipment such as dumbbells, barbells, tubing and a Swiss ball. Strength training prevents bone loss and boosts metabolism for men and women. Cycling ClassesChallenge Cycle – (All Levels) Challenge yourself with this 60-minute cycling class that will combine aerobic interval training and cardiovascular and muscular endurance training. Come in and join us for a non-impact, high intensity, stress-relieving workout! Designed for those who like long distance endurance workouts, this class is a great way to train for outdoor cycling events as well. Cycle & Sculpt 30/30 – (All Levels)This fun class combines 30 minutes of cycling and 30 minutes of strength training to improve cardiovascular and muscular endurance, balance , coordination and flexibility. Interval Cycle – (All Levels) This class is designed for people of all fitness levels that are looking for a fun, but challenging non-impact workout. Aerobic interval training is utilized to help improve your cardiovascular fitness as well as strengthening and firming all lower body muscles. The instructors will take you on a journey that mimics a real road experience. Only 2 to 3 times a week and you will notice a change in your body! Come try one today! Power Cycle – (All Levels) The focus in this cycling class is a combination of strength & speed to increase power. If you are looking for a fun, non-impact workout to improve your energy level and increase your metabolism, look no further! Power cycle is for you! Cycle experience is helpful! This class is suitable for people of all fitness levels. Mind & Body ClassesFitness Yoga – (All Levels) Fitness Yoga combines traditional yoga postures with modern fitness moves. Slow stretches are combined with strengthening postures to improve strength and flexibility. Excellent for those who are looking to increase range of motion, reduce stress and aid relaxation. Beginning Hatha Yoga – (Beginner) Gentle Yoga is the lightest, easiest type of yoga suitable for the exercise novice or those looking for a little slower paced class. Hatha Yoga gently stretches the body to increase range of motion, improve strength, and flexibility, while relieving stress. 75 minutes of breathing and relaxation exercises are taught for balance and energy. Hatha Yoga – (All Levels) Hatha style yoga is an ancient practice of gently stretching and limbering the body to increase health, strength, flexibility, vitality and self-awareness. 75 minutes of breathing and relaxation exercises are taught for balance and energy. Yoga is an effective way to decrease mental and physical fatigue and stress. Pilates Basics + – (All Levels) Pilates works from the inside out to develop a better understanding of our body. Through awareness and breathing techniques, we rediscover the energy that lies within! The six fundamental principles of the Pilates Method will be learned and practiced. They are as follows: CONCENTRATION-CONTROL-CENTERING-FLOWING MOVEMENT-PRECISION & BREATHING. A segment of body rolling will also be incorporated to stretch the muscles laterally. Try it today! Group Training ClassesInterval Circuit – This program is designed to keep your heart rate elevated by alternating between cardio and strength training exercises, and finishing with stretches for improved flexibility. This is a fast pace class including a wide variety of exercises. You will meet with a Certified Personal Trainer once a week. Adult orientation on the fitness equipment is a prerequisite. Knowledge of free weights helpful. Class size is limited to four people. Super Circuit – Want to change your body? Meet with a certified personal trainer for an hour of fun filled workouts. Focus on a combination of cardio and strength-training drills that increase intensity, core strength, muscle tone and flexibility. Increasing your intensity will make a difference and is the key to great results! Sign up today! Class must have a minimum of four to run, and a maximum of ten. Knowledge of free weights helpful. Weight, measurements and Body composition included upon request. Kids Workout Club – Moms! Dads! This is the perfect opportunity for a family outing of fitness. Drop off your child in this safe class where the activity is always fun! Then you can take a class or workout in our fitness center. A personal trainer will keep your kids moving and improving with cardiovascular, strength and flexibility exercises for 60 minutes. They will participate in a variety of individual and group activities to teach them how regular exercise can be essential to a healthy, happy life! There will be a variety of props used including balls, agility ladders, bands, steps and obstacle courses. Boys and girls welcome! This is an eight-week class. Personal Training SessionsIndividual Sessions – A YMCA trained and nationally certified personal trainer works individually with you to design a program to meet your fitness needs. Exercise programs can vary from cardiovascular endurance, weight reduction, weight gain, strength training and flexibility. Prerequisite: Orientation. Packages are listed below.
