Active Adults Fitness
Today's Active Adults are more health conscious than ever before. At the YMCA we've made the health and fitness of our seniors a top priority by providing programs for the spirit, mind and body. Through group exercise classes and aquatic programs that concentrate on mobility and flexibility, dance classes, and volunteer activities, the YMCA is bringing Active Adults together for camaraderie, fellowship and fun!

Utilizes low impact moves in this joint-friendly class geared for a low to moderate intensity level. The class will cardiovascular, strengthening, and stretching exercises.
Deep Water Exercise
Impact of exercising is eliminated in deep water which is beneficial for painful joint problems. Workout increased with greater water resistance.
A high-level aerobic workout without the joint-jarring and muscle-pounding effects of land exercises.
This class is designed to use the chair as a support and stabilizer during yoga poses, though you can do all the poses standing up if you so choose! This is the perfect class for all ages and abilities, and will help improve your physical and mental fitness.
Shallow Water Exercise
This is an ideal form of exercise for all ages and pregnant women. This class promotes strength, increased mobility, flexibility, improved circulation, and relaxation.
This class is designed for anyone with any joint/mobility problems, recovering from surgery, or simply needing a slow, gentle exercise program.
Modifies the moves and pacing to suit the needs of the active older participant as well as those starting or getting back into exercise.
This gentle combination of shallow water and deep water aerobics is perfect for those who want a great all around workout.
Swim, Stretch & Socialize
Lap swim combined with water exercise during which the conversation will range from recipes, to movies, to current events!
Nia is the art of movement the body's way. Nia is a cardio-dance workout, a movement practice, and lifestyle based on the intelligent design of the body. Nia tones your mind and tunes your body. Each workout brings mindfulness to your dance movement experience leaving you energized, mentally clear, and emotionally balanced. Nia cardio dance workouts combine 52 simple moves with dance and martial arts, and healing arts get you fit in 60 minutes- body, mind, emotion, and spirit. All levels welcome.
Core and Functional Strength
Increase your core strength with a variety of all-body exercises. Increase your functional strength and ability with the same exercises. No matter your fitness goals, increasing your core and functional strength will help you reach them.
Improve Your Balance
Balance diminishes as we get older, but you CAN improve your balance at any age with strength gains, posture improvement, flexibility training and balance practice. If you are looking to improve your balance this is the class for you.
Sit and Be Fit
Sit and exercise everything from your face to your toes. Sit and Be Fit is a nationally recognized exercise program that is easy to do and provides you with a safe and effective workout for your entire body, including strength, flexibility, and functionality exercises to improve your overall fitness.
All About Stretching
Today's lifestyles find us sitting far too often and our bodies are suffering as a result. Increase your flexibility by stretching. This class will teach you stretching exercises for your entire body. Learn stretches that you can do every day.
Knee and Hip Pre-Post Rehab
This class is for people who have been told by their physician that they are a candidate for joint surgery or replacement, or who have already had surgery and have finished therapy. Pre-Post Rehab will help you build stength, flexibility, and functionality around your joints and strengthen your core.
PIIT (Personal Intensity Interval Training)
PIIT takes the treadmill, elliptical, bike, etc. to the next level! Make your workouts work for you! PIIT will personalize interval training to accommodate yor body. All levels welcome.
Combine exercises to increase your stability an your strength both in class and in your everyday life so that you can face challenges with confidence.
Stability, Strength (+ Heart)
This class adds a cardiovascular component to Stability and Strength so that you not only build your skeletal muscles but also your heart and lungs.
