Pre-School Division [+/-]
Introduce children to rhythm and movement in their
very first years! Ballet and Tap for ages 3 to 5.
Ballet Rhythms (3 years old by 9/1/08)
A charming first approach to dance. Large motor skills, simple ballet steps, creative movement and limited tumbling.
*Pink plain short sleeved leotard, pink tights and pink ballet shoes.
Ballet Beats (4 years old by 9/1/08)
Students improve motor skills, learn basic ballet positions and begin work on simple ballet movements.
*Red plain short sleeved leotard, pink tights and pink ballet shoes.
Ballet Designs (5 years old by 9/1/08)
Students work on basic ballet skills and movement. More complex concepts in dance will be introduced.
*Navy blue plain short sleeved leotard, pink tights and pink ballet shoes.
Pre-School Tap (4 - 5 years old)
Basic tap technique including marching, shuffles, flaps and ball changes. Curriculum will also include short dance routines combining movements.
*Red or blue plain short sleeved leotard, pink tights and black tap shoes.

First grade through high school. Ballet classes, Jazz classes, Hip Hop, Modern Dance and Tap. Toggle the link above for descriptions of classes.
Ballet Classes
Ballet is the foundation for all dance forms. Emphasis is on placement, balance, control, discipline and clean lines. Strength and flexibility will also be highlighted through the use of good technique. Ballet positions, barre work, center combinations and large movements are part of the ballet syllabus. Progression through the levels shown below is carefully monitored. Each level is studied for at least one year (some levels may require 2 or more years of study).
Ballet Dress Code: Black leotard, pink tights and pink ballet shoes. Hair must be pulled back away from the face in a ponytail or a braid. Jewelry is limited to small post earrings. No chains, watches or necklaces are to be worn during class.

Pointe
Dancing on pointe requires considerable strength and skill and is a central part of a professional female ballet dancers training. Students must be at least 12 years old, and have several years of previous ballet training in order to develop
the strength to support their bodies on pointe. Classes can be taken with or without the pointe option.
Jazz Classes
Jazz Dance is a technique based on ballet using contemporary and jazz music as expressions of energy and soul. Flexibility, clean lines, placement, turns and leaps will be emphasized. Ballet classes are strongly recommended when studying jazz dance.
Jazz Dress Code: Black leotard or unitard, black tights or jazz pants, black jazz shoes.
- Jazz & Pizzazz 1—1st grade
- Jazz & Pizzazz 2—2nd-3rd grade
2nd graders with jazz experience or
3rd graders with no jazz experience

Hip Hop Classes
Hip Hop is a fun, high energy dance form using the most recent popular music. Come dance to music by your favorite artists!
Hip Hop Dress Code: Comfortable dance clothing (no jeans!), gym shoes or jazz sneakers (shoes worn for class should not be worn outside).
- Hip Hop Junior Beginning—3rd-5th grade
- Hip Hop Junior Advanced—Instructor approval only
- Hip Hop Senior Beginning—7th grade and up—entry level class
- Hip Hop Senior Intermediate—8th grade and up
Prerequisite: one or more years of Hip Hop Sr. Beginning (or equivalent)
- Hip Hop Senior Advanced—Instructor approval only
Modern Dance
Modern Dance is a technique class with concentrated warm-ups focusing on correct placement and balance, as well as flexibility and strength. Ballet classes are strongly recommended when studying modern dance.
Modern Dress Code: Black leotard or unitard, black footless or stirrup tights, bare feet (no socks or shoes).
- Modern Junior Level—4th-6th grade
Ballet or jazz experience recommended.
- Modern 1 Senior—6th-7th grade
Ballet or jazz experience recommended.
- Modern 2 Senior—7th grade - adult
Prerequisite: one or more years of
modern dance training.
- Modern 3/4 Senior—Instructor approval only
Tap Dance Classes
Tap promotes coordination and an acute sense of rhythmic patterns. Warm-ups, combinations and short routines are a part of the tap curriculum. Tap encourages the retention of movement patterns and aids in the development of kinetic memory.
Tap Dress Code: Black leotard or unitard, black tights or jazz pants (no jeans!), black tap shoes.

For teens and adults with little to no tap training. Learn the basics of tap dance as well as fun routines!

Adult Ballet 1
Learn or improve your ballet technique. This class teaches and reinforces basic ballet movement and vocabulary, including barre exercises and
combinations in the center.
Adult Ballet 2
Designed for adults who have a working knowledge of ballet technique, and previous ballet training. More complex barre technique and center floor
combinations are included.
Adult Jazz
For adults who want to move with the beat. Class includes warm-up, floor work, stretching, movement across the floor, short combinations, great music
and fun!
Belly Dancing
One of the oldest forms of dance, belly dance is graceful, empowering, and fun. You will learn the basics for both fluid and rhythmic dance moves and combinations, using authentic music.
Ballroom Dance
The elegant art of ballroom dance is taught in an easy, relaxed atmosphere. Learn to fox trot, waltz, cha cha, swing and tango! Dancers without partners welcome.

Private Piano Lessons
Master instructors Zina Katsman and
Irina Mueller teach ages 4 through adult.
30 minutes private piano lessons are
available for all levels. No previous
musical experience is necessary.
