Ballet Classes
Ballet is the foundation for all dance forms. Emphasis is on placement, balance, control, discipline and clean lines. Strength and flexibility will also be highlighted through the use of good technique. Ballet positions, barre work, center combinations and large movements are part of the ballet syllabus. Progression through the levels shown below is carefully monitored. Each level is studied for at least one year (some levels may require 2 or more years of study).
Ballet Dress Code: Black leotard, pink tights and pink ballet shoes. Hair must be pulled back away from the face in a ponytail or a braid. Jewelry is limited to small post earrings. No chains, watches or necklaces are to be worn during class.
Pointe
Dancing on pointe requires considerable strength and skill and is a central part of a professional female ballet dancers training. Students must be at least 12 years old, and have several years of previous ballet training in order to develop
the strength to support their bodies on pointe. Classes can be taken with or without the pointe option.
Jazz Classes
Jazz Dance is a technique based on ballet using contemporary and jazz music as expressions of energy and soul. Flexibility, clean lines, placement, turns and leaps will be emphasized. Ballet classes are strongly recommended when studying jazz dance.
Jazz Dress Code: Black leotard or unitard, black tights or jazz pants, black jazz shoes.
Hip Hop Classes
Hip Hop is a fun, high energy dance form using the most recent popular music. Come dance to music by your favorite artists!
Hip Hop Dress Code: Comfortable dance clothing (no jeans!), gym shoes or jazz sneakers (shoes worn for class should not be worn outside).
