Performance Art

The North Suburban YMCA offers dance programming in a variety of disciplines for ages 3 through adult. Our dance programming culminates each year with our dance recital in June. We also offer dance students the opportunity to participate in our Dance Company, which learns original choreography and performs in local venues during the spring.

  • Preschool dance classes (ballet or tap) for ages 3 through 5 years
  • Ballet classes for grade 1 through high school
  • Jazz classes for grade 1 through high school
  • Hip Hop classes for grade 3 through high school
  • Modern dance classes for grade 3 through high school
  • Tap dance classes for grade 1 through high school
  • Dance classes for adults – Ballet, Jazz, Modern, Tap and Ballroom
  • Dance Company for age 9 years. Must be a NYSMCA member and participate in Fall and Winter/Spring classes. Auditions are held in December. Call the Performing Arts office at ext. 1232.

Fine Arts/Music Programs

The North Suburban YMCA is a great place to introduce your child to music, continue their musical education or enhance your own interest in music.

Visual Arts Programs

The North Suburban YMCA offers a wide variety of art classes for preschoolers through adults. From ceramics to watercolor, origami to airplane model making, you’re sure to find a class that interests the artist in your family.

  • Classes for preschoolers with parent or caregiver 2½-3½years
  • Daytime art classes for preschool through Kindergarten
  • After school classes for grades K – Jr. High
