Rules and Guidelines

(Pool Rules)
- Lifeguards decision is final!
- All swimmers must take a soapy shower.
- Pool usage is restricted to YMCA members, guests and program participants.
- Only pool staff is permitted in the storage room or pool office.
- Persons with communicable diseases, open cuts or sores and adhesive bandages are not allowed in the pool.
- Spitting, spouting water, blowing the nose or discharging body wastes in the pool is strictly prohibited.
- No street shoes are allowed on the pool deck.
- Bathing suits are required for use of the swimming pool. No cut-offs, leotards or gym shorts are allowed.
- Infants must wear swim diapers and rubber pants.
- No glass containers allowed on the pool deck.
- No gum, food, beverages or alcoholic beverages allowed on pool deck.
- No running on the pool deck.
- No rough playing.
- All jumps and dives must be in a forward direction and in the deep end.
- No diving in the shallow end.
- Diving blocks are not to be used.
- Only those swimming laps or exercising may use kickboards or barbells.
- Any child under 9 years of age must have an adult in the water with them.
- Children must be able to swim the entire length of the pool, in good form, to be able to swim in the deep end.
- No toys from home allowed in the pool.
(Wellness Center & Free Weight/Track Area Rules)
- The Golden Rule: "Treat others as you would like others to treat you" applies to the Wellness Center as well as the entire YMCA.
- Safety First! Dress in appropriate clothing for your workout, including athletic shoes. No sandals.
- Gym-bags, large purses and portable stereos are not allowed in the center or track area. Use the locker rooms for storage when possible.
- Clean up the entire area you perspired onto by spraying the paper toweling provided with cleaning solution and wiping down the equipment. PLEASE DO NOT SPRAY THE EQUIPMENT!
- No one under the age of 14 is allowed in the Wellness Center or track area. 14 & 15 year olds must go through a two-hour orientation to obtain a Y sticker before they are allowed to use the Wellness Center.
- NO SPITTING OR LEAVING GUM ANYWHERE.
- There is a 30-minute limit on all cardio machines, if someone is waiting. Use the sign in sheets so that you can be next on a cardio machine when the user is finished.
- Please be aware of other members who may want to use a piece of equipment that you are using. If you are resting between sets let others work in.
- Please return weights, dumbbells, bars, and balls back to the appropriate racks when you are finished with them.
(Spa Rules and Facts)
- The Spa is Co-ed at all times.
- Only those 13 years old with parent or 18 years and older may use the Spa.
- Co-ed hours require proper swimming attire at all times.
- Spa closed 15 minutes prior to building each day.
(KidZone Guidelines)
- Children are not required to be toilet-trained to use KidZone. However, the KidZone staff is not responsible for changing diapers. Parents will be paged if their child exhibits signs of being uncomfortable.
- Plastic bottles and cups with lids may be brought from home (please label these items). Staff will feed your baby as needed.
- Our facility is equipped with toys and activities and is supervised by caring staff. Please do not bring toys from home.
- As a courtesy to others, please do not use KidZone if your child is not feeling well. In an effort to keep all children healthy, any child presenting an oral temperature of 100 degrees or more, a rash, severe diarrhea, actively running nose, or hacking cough or who is vomiting should be kept home until s/he is symptom free for 24 hours or more. Children exhibiting symptoms of ill health will not be admitted.
- Should a child’s behavior be deemed inappropriate or if a child cries excessively, parents will be asked to make alternate arrangements.
- KidZone is provided as a service to our members and program participants. In order to use KidZone, a designated parent or adult caregiver must remain in the building at all times. Any parent or designated caregiver found leaving the YMCA building while their child is in the care of KidZone will no longer be allowed to use the services of KidZone.
