Dear Y Friend,

Many families across the country turn to their local YMCA as an important resource for family support, stress reduction and health and wellness -- particularly in times of economic uncertainty. The same is true in Northbrook and our surrounding communities.

The North Suburban YMCA has served area families for over 40 years. We have always been here to help with memberships and program scholarships to those who are in need of some sort of assistance, and have never abandoned our mission: to build strong kids, strong families and strong communities through family-focused programming accessible to all.

In this time of economic challenge the NSYMCA has responded to unprecedented
requests for additional assistance over the past year.

Here are the facts:
• Number of people supported: 1,332
• Total financial aid provided: $332,000
• % of members receiving support: 17%

Some requests are temporary, some are longer term, but all are reviewed in confidence and are judged are their individual merit. Perhaps you know a family that has been adversely affected by this economy? Or a parent that needs assistance due to job loss, divorce or failing health? If so, then help the
Y to help them by making a tax-deductible donation to our annual Y Family Campaign.

It’s easy to give through two simple options:
• Fill out the pledge card and send a check or drop it off at our front desk.
• Make a credit-card donation through our website.

Plus, as you plan for the holiday season, you can receive “Gift of Health” certificates with your donation to give to friends and neighbors.

You can make a difference in someone’s life today. Isn’t it good to know that the Y will be there if YOU needed help in the future and that someone else was there to help YOU?

Thank you for your consideration.

Sincerely yours,

Matt Brennan
