Investing in Your Community

The North Suburban YMCA wants to welcome everyone who needs us, including those from low-income families who do not have the resources to pay for membership and program fees. We are able to give this opportunity to so many families and youth in the communities we serve with our fee assistance program (scholarship).

The NSYMCA Fee Assistance Program is set up as a cooperative effort. The recipient pays a percentage of program fees and a percentage is waived based upon established need. The North Suburban YMCA and its volunteer Board of Directors strive to have scholarship funds available to achieve its goal of providing services to those needing financial assistance. Funds are received from businesses, foundations and individuals through solicitations of charitable contributions. It is through this generous support that the Y has assisted nearly 600 people with over $110,000 worth of fee assistance in the last year.

Every day we get new requests for assistance. Our goal is to provide assistance to everyone in need. A donation of $75 would allow a boy or girl to take a session of swim lessons; a $200 donation will send a kid to camp for a week this summer.
